JJF Ltd was appointed by Costain, on behalf of Severn Trent, to deliver £1,200,000 of civil engineering and fibre-reinforced concrete (FRC) works for the construction of a new rotating biological contactor (RBC) tank at Upper Sapey. The project formed part of essential wastewater treatment upgrades, aimed at increasing capacity and improving operational performance. The scope included construction of the new tank structure, installation of FRC elements for enhanced durability, and delivery of associated drainage and enabling works to support integration into the existing site.

Working within a live operational environment, JJF Ltd carefully coordinated activities to ensure safe and efficient delivery with minimal disruption to ongoing treatment processes. The team utilised modern construction methods and high-quality materials to provide a robust and long-lasting solution. Successful completion of the works enabled the new RBC system to be brought online seamlessly, reinforcing JJF Ltd’s expertise in delivering complex civils projects within the water sector.
